The Last Station is a drama based on the novel by Jay Parini. It shows the last moments of Leo Tolstoy, the famous Russian writer and philosopher, according to the official synopsis are two loves, one born and one dies.

For those who do not know, Tolstoy, shortly before he died gives up his noble title, their wealth, lifestyle and all the mundane to being immersed in the simple life, chastity, vegetarianism and poverty with the least have.

His wife suddenly faced with a reality that gives life back after 50 years of marriage and have given 13 children they are has to do with the drastic decision of her husband, who gives his all for religion.

Amid all the history we will see his secretary James McAvoy (Paul Giamatti), who falls for an admirer of Tolstoy.

This film illustrates a reality that goes beyond the life of Tolstoy, how difficult it is to live with love and how impossible it is to survive without him.

The actors who give life to each character are great, Helen Mirren, Christopher Plummer, James cAvoy and Paul Giamatti.
