The Studio Ghibli will do an adaptation of the manga-Zaka Kara Kokuriko. The story of this manga is set in the year 38 of Showa period – 1963, a year before the Tokyo Olympic Games and will deal with day to day Komatsuzaki, a junior member of the school newspaper and president of student council that was orphaned after losing their father in a boating accident and his mother, a war correspondent, by a stray bullet while covering a story.

This new movie is being directed by Goro Miyazaki, with his second after “Gedo Senki”, a film that has not had much success in the West. Moreover, the script will be provided by Keiko Niwa.
