The plot takes us to the year 2941 of the Third Age of the Sun in the company of the wizard Gandalf and thirteen dwarves, Bilbo on a journey through the land of the elves and trolls forests, through the dungeons of the Orcs and the Lonely Mountain where Smaug the dragon hides the treasure of the Dwarves. Finally, in the depths of the earth, finds the One Ring, which will result in many battles.

Martin Freeman (The Office, the girl of my dreams) Bilbo plays and this feature back Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel Elven Queen, Andy Serkins as Gollum and Orlando Bloom as Legolas.  But there will be new faces as the 3 dwarf Dori, Nori and Ori played by Mark Hadlow, Jed Brophy and Adam Brown. Or the brave Oin (John Callen) and Gloin, The father of Gilmi, the dwarf character ofThe Lord of the Rings, which gives life Peter Hambleton. Jackson has been presented to the new additions to the franchise in mid-July and met Fili (Dean O’Gorman) and Kili (Aidan Turner), two of the younger dwarves in Thorin orders Oakenshield start towards the Lonely Mountain.

The Hobbit will be split into two films, the first release in December next year and the second in December 2013. Both are rolling at a time and, from the start Peter Jackson wanted to tell fans everything that happened on set through small clips that the director was hanging on his blog. We have also recovered some of these videos.

The two films in the new series are shot at 48 frames per second (fps), double the usual. Respect of this development, the Director and producer at the time said:

“The key thing to understand is that this process not only needs to be moving at 48 fps, but that is planned at that speed. Thus, the result can be seen at normal speed but the clarity and smoothness of the image greatly improved and is more realistic and easier to see, especially in 3D. We have lived for nine decades with film at 24 fps, not because it was the best speed, but because they chose the middle path between adjusting the speed of sound recording and control costs was the lowest acceptable speed. The negative charge for meters and is very expensive”

Until now, the trilogy has sold over 150 million copiesworldwide and has raised more than 2900 million dollars. In total, the 3 deliveries received 30 Oscar nominations and won 17 statuettes, including 11 for The Return of the King. The final chapter also received 4 Golden Globes and 4 BAFTA Awards, including Best Picture and Adapted Screenplay.
