A while ago I told you about the new movie The Thing and I showed you the first poster you see above, but today is much more interesting: the first trailer of the film.
In case you’re not an expert in this kind of films, The Thing is the name of a cult horror film of the 80, the work of the equally cult direcotr John Carpenter. And it is now, right in 2011, a Director practically unknown to the public, thought it would be good to make a kind of homage to the film with Carpenter. But instead of a simple secual a remake or a reboot of both are being now decided to create a prequel to the Carpenter film, and thus was born the new The Thing.
As it’s prequel, The Thing (2011) is positioned before the events of The Thing (1982), when a group of mission scientists in Antarctica found a mysterious ship inside which inhabits a body that will turn against them. Mary Elizabeth Winstead leads the cast.
I had high hopes for this film after the fiascos of recent remakes and prequels have been made from old horror movies, but after seeing the trailer for this, I have to admit that it looks nothing more. I hope that is not just a mirage.
