The Hobbit, Guillermo del Toro confirmed the delay. Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has confirmed that the film The Hobbit is still delayed, as to date of commencement of production question.

The Hobbit, a film which takes place several years before the story of The Lord of the Rings does not have any production start date because of financial problems at MGM, which has a debt of 3,700 million dollars for what the study is being kept afloat at the expense of reduced costs.

The filmmaker told the press that negotiations are in many tangled from strong wind of the complicated financial situation of the MGM and the firm has an important part of the rights of the film.

On the possibility that the history is made in 3D, Del Toro says it may be a possibility, but that the budget which currently account is not intended for a film of such characteristics.
